Need Senior Database Migration Project Manager (Pharma Domain) - Remote - USC

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Project Manager with strong Pharmaceutical industry experience and a valid PMI certification (PMP preferred). The ideal candidate will lead large-scale database migration initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of data migration projects while maintaining regulatory compliance within the pharma environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• PMI Certification (PMP) is mandatory.
• 8+ years of Project Management experience leading enterprise technology initiatives.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Database Migration Projects.
• Strong experience with database technologies such as:
• Oracle
• SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• MySQL
• Cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
• Proven experience in end-to-end data migration, database upgrades, and modernization projects.
• Experience working in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Healthcare environments.
• Strong understanding of GxP, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with cloud migration initiatives and data governance frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex database migration programs from planning through production deployment.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation strategies.
• Coordinate with database administrators, architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Oversee data mapping, validation, reconciliation, testing, and cutover activities.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout migration processes.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive status reporting, executive communication, and governance meetings.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure minimal disruption during migration activities.
• Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations and validation requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party migration partners as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, Data Warehousing, and Data Governance.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or related certifications are a plus.
