Summary: The Murex SME / Capital Markets Data Analyst role involves analyzing Murex Datamart configuration files, documenting data transformations, and ensuring data integrity across various OTC derivative products. The position requires strong SQL skills and experience with Murex, particularly in a capital markets context. The role is fully remote and includes participation in stakeholder sessions and validation workshops. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze Murex Datamart configuration files and reverse-engineer MxML transformation rules, documenting field-level mappings, derivations, and calculated fields at each lineage hop
- Map all Production-released Datamart tables and fields; reconcile against the Murex GUI catalog and document gaps
- Read and interpret Sybase stored procedures, views, and SQL extraction scripts; flag dynamic SQL or conditional logic requiring escalation
- Define Critical Data Elements (CDEs) aligned to FpML standards across OTC derivative product types in scope (IRS, CDS, FX Options, Equity Derivatives, and others)
- Map each CDE to its physical Sybase column and document all transformation rules in transit XVA haircuts, FX conversion, netting, aggregation
- Participate in working sessions with IT stakeholder groups and validation workshops with downstream consumer teams
- Load manually documented lineage into the catalog platform incrementally, maintaining agreed documentation standards
- Maintain a running issues log for open items discovered during configuration analysis
Key Skills:
- 5+ years hands-on Murex MX.3 experience with direct exposure to Datamart module and dynamic table configuration front-office users and system admins without configuration-level depth will not meet the bar
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret MxML/MXML transformation logic
- Strong SQL proficiency in a Sybase environment
- Working knowledge of OTC derivatives across at least three product types; FpML familiarity required
- Prior data lineage, governance, or metadata documentation experience in a capital markets context
- Multi-entity North American Murex Datamart deployment experience
- Exposure to regulatory reporting data flows (CFTC, SEC) sourced from Murex
- Familiarity with Secoda, OpenMetadata, Collibra, or Informatica EDC
