Summary: The Mulesoft Technical Lead role involves leading the design and implementation of complex integration solutions using the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform, particularly within the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of complex integration solutions using Mulesoft Anypoint Platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectural standards and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Define and enforce best practices for Mulesoft development, API design (RAML/OAS), security, performance, and error handling.
- Conduct technical reviews of Mulesoft code and designs to ensure quality, scalability, maintainability, and adherence to security policies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of Mulesoft developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Translate complex business requirements from healthcare stakeholders into detailed technical specifications for Mulesoft integrations.
- Design, develop, and deploy Mulesoft APIs and integrations to connect various healthcare systems (e.g., EHR/EMR, LIS, RIS, billing systems, patient portals, third-party services).
- Implement API-led connectivity principles, creating reusable assets (System, Process, Experience APIs) within the Anypoint Exchange.
- Configure and manage Mulesoft environments, including CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, or on-premise deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7 v2.x, FHIR R4+, X12), clinical workflows, and administrative processes.
- Ensure all integration solutions adhere to healthcare data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, PHI handling).
- Experience with common healthcare integration patterns and challenges.
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and various healthcare business units to understand integration needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Mulesoft integration within the organization.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Mulesoft applications and APIs for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement robust error handling, logging, and alerting mechanisms for integration flows.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in enterprise integration, with at least 4 years specifically focused on the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform.
- Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience implementing integration solutions within the healthcare industry (e.g., hospitals, clinics, payers, life sciences, healthcare IT vendors).
- Deep expertise in Mulesoft Anypoint Platform components - Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, Design Center, Access Management.
- Proven experience with API design (RAML/OAS), development, and governance.
- Strong proficiency in Mulesoft connectors (e.g., HTTP, Database, JMS, Salesforce, SAP, FHIR, HL7), DataWeave, and MUnit.
- Extensive experience with healthcare data standards and protocols: HL7 (v2.x, v3), FHIR (R4+), X12, DICOM, CCDA.
