Summary: The MSSQL DBA role involves delivering cloud-related database services and products to internal customers, focusing on end-to-end database support for both public and private cloud platforms. Responsibilities include monitoring, incident response, and resolution, as well as driving root cause analysis to improve system stability. The position requires expertise in observability and automation to enhance database operations and support development teams in adopting DevOps practices. This is a contract position classified as inside IR35, with a remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end database support for cloud services, including monitoring and incident resolution.
- Ensure database availability, reliability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring.
- Participate in incident, change, release, and problem management processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis on incidents to improve system stability.
- Manage database backup and recovery, access rights, and database instance version control.
- Implement database maintenance plans and ensure optimal production configurations.
- Advise on best practices for production operation of Database PaaS environments.
- Participate in on-call rota for database support.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in MSSQL database administration and cloud operations.
