The Role
We are working with an education institution who offers a diverse range of full-time and part-time courses across various disciplines, including access to Higher Education, Higher Education courses and Apprenticeships. They are looking for a contractor to provide ad hoc support for their Moodle platform. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting cybersecurity checks, minor point upgrades and general system updates.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience working within Higher Education, Further Education, or EdTech environments
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting and developing Moodle environments hosted on Linux servers, ideally Moodle 4.5.x
- Strong PHP experience, including PHP 8.3 compatibility considerations
- Strong MySQL database administration and performance tuning experience
- Experience with Moodle upgrades, plugins, and third-party integrations
- Understanding of authentication methods such as SSO / OpenID Connect would be advantageous
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
