Summary: The Mobile Voice Core Signalling Designer role involves supporting the design and evolution of mobile voice core signalling platforms, focusing on end-to-end network designs across various environments. The position requires collaboration with project teams and vendors to deliver scalable and secure signalling solutions while contributing to network transformation initiatives. The role is remote with occasional travel to Reading and is initially for a duration of six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD) for core voice and signalling platforms.
- Design and support signalling solutions across IP STP, DSC (DRA/DEA), IMS, and Legacy voice core networks.
- Assess network impacts, capacity planning, and solution modelling for signalling projects.
- Support the development of automated testing capabilities across 5G SA and Legacy core networks.
- Produce Statements of Requirements (SORs), review supplier Statements of Compliance (SOC), and validate vendor designs.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to support network evolution and future roadmap planning.
- Ensure all designs meet operational, security, and fraud prevention requirements.
- Provide technical guidance throughout project delivery and support design governance activities.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience designing mobile core voice and signalling networks within mobile operator environments.
- Deep understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, IMS, and mobile core network architectures.
- Strong knowledge of signalling protocols including SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter, and MAP.
- Experience producing HLDs, LLDs, capacity models, and technical design documentation.
- Understanding of IP Networking, traffic engineering, switching, and radio principles.
- Experience working with network vendors, reviewing technical documentation, and supporting solution delivery.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
