Summary: The role of Mid-Level SQL DevOps Engineer focuses on leveraging SQL engineering skills alongside DevOps practices to enhance deployment processes. The position requires collaboration with business partners to understand needs and implement technical solutions in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment. Candidates should be self-sufficient and capable of taking ownership of tasks after onboarding. Experience in Agile methodologies and the healthcare industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the team’s transition toward a leaner, Agile process
- Join sprint planning, daily standups, and story reviews
- Administer unit testing for stories
- Collaborate closely with the business to understand needs and suggest appropriate solutions
- Work on various projects that require deploying and scripting database updates
- Once fully onboarded, take ownership of stories from the scrum team
- Continually explore and identify opportunities to improve deployment and DevOps processes
Key Skills:
- 2-5+ years of experience in a similar SQL/DevOps role
- Solid understanding of SQL engineering with DevOps experience
- Experience with scripting deployments, post scripts, and packaging and deploying code changes
- Ability to work collaboratively with business partners
- Comfortable working in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment
- Self-sufficient, able to take ownership of tasks/stories once onboarded
- Experience working in a fully Agile environment (pluses)
- Exposure to payer programs or healthcare industry (pluses)
- Familiarity with daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and story-based workflows (pluses)
