Summary: A Microsoft Gold Partner is seeking a Microsoft Security Architect for an initial 3-month contract, focusing on delivering advanced security solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem. The role requires expertise in Microsoft security tooling and Azure, with responsibilities including designing security architectures and ensuring compliance. The contractor will collaborate with technical teams to document best practices and provide leadership on security matters. This position is fully remote and outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and shape end-to-end security architectures using Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Entra Private Access, and the Microsoft Defender portfolio.
  • Deliver high-quality technical documentation, including architecture blueprints, security frameworks, and solution implementation guides.
  • Establish and enforce governance and compliance standards, incorporating features such as tagging, Azure Locks, and DR planning.
  • Provide technical authority and leadership, advising on security best practices and supporting delivery teams.
  • Contribute to solution proposals by outlining approach, effort, and timelines where required.

Key Skills:

  • Proven expertise in Azure infrastructure and security design.
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management with Entra ID and related security capabilities.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Defender technologies and Microsoft Sentinel (or similar SIEM platforms).
  • Solid background in Azure networking security (Firewall, NSGs, NVAs such as Barracuda).
  • Experience with endpoint management using Microsoft Intune.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a strong focus on documentation.
  • Microsoft certifications such as AZ-500 or SC-100.
  • Understanding of secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Familiarity with data protection frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001).
