Summary: The Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer will be instrumental in migrating enterprise-scale data platforms from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric. This hands-on role requires expertise in building and optimizing ETL pipelines and redesigning data models for real-time analytics. The position is suited for individuals who excel in fast-paced environments and are passionate about solving complex data challenges. The contract is initially for three months with a strong potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the migration of existing data pipelines and workloads from Synapse into Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and optimise ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark within the Fabric environment.
- Work across OneLake, Data Factory, and Power BI to ensure seamless integration and end-to-end functionality.
- Redesign data models and architectures to support real-time analytics and reporting.
- Implement and uphold data quality, governance, and performance best practices.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver a smooth transition and measurable value.
Key Skills:
- 3+ years' experience as a Data Engineer in Azure environments.
- Proven experience working with Azure Synapse and understanding of Fabric architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and ETL pipeline development.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Data Lake technologies.
- Experience with data migration or modernisation projects.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced delivery settings.
