Summary: The Microsoft Fabric Architect role involves assessing and recommending architecture approaches for Microsoft Fabric and related data solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess Microsoft Fabric architecture, including tenant settings, workspaces, capacities, data stores, integration patterns, and Power BI dependencies
  • Recommend architecture approaches for OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, semantic models, Direct Lake, data pipelines, and reporting workloads
  • Design reusable ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns using Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, and Lakehouse/Warehouse solutions
  • Support integration planning for enterprise applications, APIs, files, reporting datasets, and cloud data assets
  • Establish governance, security, access controls, deployment standards, and environment separation across development, test, and production
  • Assess capacity sizing, performance, storage usage, monitoring, and cost optimization strategies
  • Recommend operational dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and adoption best practices
  • Define DevOps processes, source control standards, deployment pipelines, naming conventions, and documentation requirements
  • Provide workshops, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance for administrators, engineers, and reporting teams

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft data and analytics platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory/Fabric Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture, semantic modeling, governance, deployment pipelines, and enterprise reporting environments

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Denver, CO that is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Architect.

Responsibilities:
* Assess Microsoft Fabric architecture, including tenant settings, workspaces, capacities, data stores, integration patterns, and Power BI dependencies
* Recommend architecture approaches for OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, semantic models, Direct Lake, data pipelines, and reporting workloads

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft data and analytics platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory/Fabric Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture, semantic modeling, governance, deployment pipelines, and enterprise reporting environments

Deliverables:
* Technical assessment identifying current-state findings, risks, gaps, and prioritized recommendations
* Reference architecture and implementation roadmap covering workspace strategy, governance, capacity planning, and deployment approach
* Standards and operating procedures for security, access management, monitoring, source control, and environment promotion
* Proof-of-concept support for representative workloads, such as data pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse models, semantic models, Direct Lake reporting, or governance workflows
* Final presentation with recommendations, documentation, key decisions, dependencies, and next steps

Experience with:
* Long-term managed services or production support
* Full migration of existing reporting, data warehouse, or data lake environments unless separately defined
* Custom application development outside Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, or approved integration technologies
* Penetration testing or unrelated cloud security assessments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
