Willing work as forward-deployed engineers embedded with the teams, primarily focused on designing, building, and delivering new, modern solutions on Microsoft Azure that update and replace legacy applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in the design, modernization, migration, conversion, implementation, and deployment of client’s applications and services within the Microsoft Azure environment.
- Assess existing legacy applications and code bases and develop recommendations and technical approaches for converting .NET Framework applications to modern .NET/.NET Core technologies.
- Migrate and deploy applications, services, and related components to Azure App Services and other appropriate Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other approved Microsoft technologies to automate application builds, testing, and deployments.
- Utilize GitHub and GitHub Copilot to support software development, code analysis, code migration, troubleshooting, and application modernization activities.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues within C# and .NET application code bases.
- Implement secure application configuration and credential management using Azure Key Vault and other approved Microsoft Azure security services.
- Configure and support application monitoring, diagnostics, telemetry, logging, and performance analysis using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and related Azure logging services.
- Evaluate and integrate Azure AI services and APIs into LADBS applications to support application modernization, automation, and enhanced business functionality.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure cloud resources and services, including Azure Storage and other services necessary to support application modernization and migration efforts.
- Provide technical expertise in cloud architecture, application security, scalability, reliability, performance, and production support.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, architectural diagrams, and other project documentation as needed.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to LADBS staff to support the ongoing maintenance and administration of modernized applications and cloud based services.
- Coordinate and effectively interact with LADBS application developers, infrastructure staff, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Provide updates on project status, technical challenges, risks, and recommendations.
Qualified candidates must possess the following skills and experience:
- Microsoft Azure architecture, administration, and cloud services.
- Azure App Services and deployment of applications to the Azure cloud.
- CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Migration and conversion of legacy .NET Framework applications to modern .NET/.NET Core.
- C# and .NET application development, troubleshooting, and modernization.
- Azure Key Vault and secure application configuration and credential management.
- Azure Storage and related cloud services.
- GitHub and GitHub Copilot for software development, code analysis, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Azure AI services and API integration.
- Application monitoring, diagnostics, logging, security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Application modernization and cloud architecture.
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in software development, application modernization, cloud engineering, or closely related technical work.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is required. In addition to the MCP certification, the candidate must possess at least one (1) of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600); Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900); Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900); Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400); Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
