Summary: The Microsoft 365 Migration Specialist role involves leading migration projects from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 for a UK Microsoft Solutions Partner. The position requires hands-on experience and the ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment. The specialist will manage both small and large migration projects, ensuring successful execution and adherence to best practices. This is a fully remote, 3-month contract opportunity outside of IR35 regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365 migration activity
- Assess customer environments during the discovery phase
- Validate migration assumptions, scope, and project effort
- Review tenant setup and confirm migration readiness
- Work with the project manager to formalise migration plans
- Execute migrations using vendor migration tooling
- Engage directly with customers throughout project delivery
- Support the wider migration programme alongside internal engineering resources
- Ensure work is completed securely and in line with best practice
- Troubleshoot migration issues and support successful cutover outcomes
Key Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience working across Microsoft 365 environments
- Strong experience delivering Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365 migrations
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Proven migration tooling experience
- Ability to work independently within a project delivery team
- Comfortable working in a customer-facing role during delivery
- Good understanding of security best practice, with a sensible, risk-aware approach
- Microsoft certifications are preferred and would be a strong plus
- Experience with third-party migration tools such as BitTitan or Cloudiway
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview
- Understanding of Copilot adoption or broader change management activity
- Intune or endpoint management knowledge

A leading UK Microsoft Solutions Partner is looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Specialist to support a pair of key customer migration projects. This is a hands-on contract for someone who can hit the ground running, work confidently in a customer-facing delivery environment, and lead migration activity with minimal hand-holding. The core focus is on Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365 migrations, with one project being a smaller but high-effort engagement, and the other a larger, more complex migration programme.
You’ll join an established professional services team, working closely with internal engineers and project delivery stakeholders, while taking ownership of key migration activities across discovery, planning, and execution.
The Projects
- Project 1 – Small Migration
- Approx. 100 users
- Migration from Google Workspace (G Suite) to Microsoft 365
- Not especially complex technically, but high effort and time-intensive
- Project 2 – Large Migration
- Approx. 1,000 users
- Full migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365
- Includes migration from Google MDM to Microsoft Intune
The Role
You’ll work within the existing professional services team, collaborating closely with internal engineers, as well as project management and customer stakeholders. They need someone experienced enough to assess the environment, validate assumptions, shape the plan, and then get on with delivery. The engagement will cover the full migration lifecycle:
- Discovery phase
- Validation of migration assumptions and cost model
- Assessment of the Google tenant to M365 Tenant migration scope
- Migration planning and execution
