Key Responsibilities
- Migrate Micro Focus COBOL applications from HP-UX to Red Hat Linux.
- Analyze existing COBOL programs, copybooks and application dependencies.
- Perform COBOL code migration, compilation and debugging.
- Configure Micro Focus COBOL compiler and runtime in RHEL.
- Identify and resolve platform compatibility issues.
- Migrate UNIX shell scripts to Linux.
- Work with AWS EC2 and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot application, batch processing and runtime issues.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing and regression testing.
- Support deployment, production cutover and post-migration activities.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of IT experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Micro Focus COBOL.
- Experience with HP-UX / Itanium environments.
- Experience migrating applications from HP-UX to Red Hat Linux.
- Strong knowledge of RHEL and UNIX/Linux commands.
- Experience with shell scripting (KSH/Bash).
- Knowledge of AWS EC2.
- Experience with COBOL compilation, debugging and runtime configuration.
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
