Summary: The role of Mechanical Engineer involves supporting project delivery for a leading nuclear consultant in Scotland, focusing on various process systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Technical excellence in the specification, production, and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
- Specification of reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure.
- Assessment of work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure.
- Assessment of infrastructure design, material state, qualification, and ageing mechanisms.
- Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
- Ensure outputs of safety-related contracts meet contract and safety requirements.
Key Skills:
- HNC or equivalent qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry.
- Broad experience in mechanical engineering, including pump systems, HVAC, and diesel generators.
- Experience in the nuclear industry or high hazard industries (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective design solutions.
- Good understanding of British and international design standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
