Summary: The role of Mechanical Engineer involves supporting project delivery for a leading nuclear consultant in Scotland, focusing on various process systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical excellence in the specification, production, and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
  • Specification of reliability and operational constraints for infrastructure.
  • Assessment of work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Assessment of infrastructure design, material state, qualification, and ageing mechanisms.
  • Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
  • Ensure outputs of safety-related contracts meet contract and safety requirements.

Key Skills:

  • HNC or equivalent qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry.
  • Broad experience in mechanical engineering, including pump systems, HVAC, and diesel generators.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry or high hazard industries (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to provide practical, creative, and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Good understanding of British and international design standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
