Summary: The role of Senior MES Engineer involves integrating manufacturing data across various systems including ToolTrack MES, Ignition, MQTT, and GCP for a leading high-tech electronics manufacturing company. The engineer will collaborate with system and network engineers to enhance data automation and improve data flow from equipment to the cloud. This position requires a strong background in MES systems and aims to bridge IT and manufacturing processes. The role is fully remote and offers a contract likely to extend beyond the initial term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate manufacturing data across ToolTrack MES, Ignition, MQTT, and GCP.
- Collaborate with system and network engineers to introduce the new Ignition system.
- Reduce manual data entry and build data automation.
- Improve end-to-end data flow from equipment into MES and cloud (MQTT).
- Design, implement, and maintain Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Ensure data flow from floor machines to analytics platforms and optimize processes.
- Analyze operational and manufacturing data to identify inefficiencies and improve workflows.
Key Skills:
- At least 6 years of experience as a Senior MES Engineer.
- Experience with Ignition (MES, MQTT, IIoT, or SCADA) in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with MES systems in industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, semi-conductor, automotive, bio-tech, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Strong preference for experience with ToolTrack, MQTT, and GCP (BigQuery).
- SAP integration experience is a bonus.

Senior MES Engineer / Senior Manufacturing System Engineer (MES / Manufacturing Execution System / ToolTrack / MQTT / Ignition Experience) Our client is a global leading high tech/electronics manufacturing company:
- Over 6,500 employees across 20+ offices;
- Cutting edge AR and VR technologies, 3D printing, etc.
They are looking for a senior MES engineer to work with engineering team to integrate manufacturing data across ToolTrack MES, Ignition, MQTT and GCP and introduce Ignition MES system.
- Work closely with system engineers and network engineer and help with introducing new Ignition system, system and data integration (currently using ToolTrack MES)
- Focus on reducing manual data entry (yield, temps, run times, serials) and build data automation
- Improve end-to-end data flow from equipment into MES and cloud (MQTT)
- Bridge IT and manufacturing by designing, implementing, and maintaining Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to track, control, and analyze production data
- Ensure data flow from floor machines to analytics platforms, optimize processes, and ensure quality compliance
- Analyse operational and manufacturing data identify inefficiencies and improve workflows
Requirement:
- Senior MES engineer with at least 6 years experience
- Must have experience with Ignition (MES or MQTT or IIoT or SCADA) in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with MES systems, particularly in industries like pharmaceuticals, electronics, semi-conductor, automotive, bio-tech, engineering or high-tech manufacturing
- ToolTrack, MQTT and GCP (BigQuery) experience strongly preferred, SAP integration a bonus.
Initially 6 months full time contract and highly likely to extend the contracts afterwards. Inside IR35 contract (in the UK) and offer a competitive daily rate depending on experience. Start ASAP, full remote working from anywhere in Europe.
