Management Accountant

Summary: The Management Accountant role involves supporting the finance function of a growing privately owned food business, requiring a qualified accountant with experience in manufacturing and costings. The position is primarily remote but requires occasional attendance at the Head Office in Belfast. The successful candidate will act as a finance business partner, providing insights and analysis to drive efficiencies and support decision-making. This is a 9-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on costings and margin analysis to ensure accurate product pricing and profitability insights.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Prepare management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Work closely with operations teams to provide financial insights and drive efficiencies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Assist with financial reporting and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Key Skills:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within the food & drink or manufacturing sector.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in costings and financial modelling.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to business partner effectively with operations and senior stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
