Summary: Pyramid System, a consulting company in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a Senior Mainframe and UI Tester for a 100% remote, 6-month Contract-to-Hire role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe testing and a solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, developing software solutions, and executing test scripts. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and UI design is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements and understand the SDLC process.
- Conceive solutions and develop software.
- Create and execute test scripts to meet operational needs.
- Apply understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS Web Services, ColdFusion, Java, and JavaScript.
- Develop timely and accurate status reports, including time reporting and adherence to level of effort (LOE).
- Design markup and develop the UI of websites and/or web applications.
- Maximize usability through understanding of UX and UI design.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Testing.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of Development Life Cycle and System Testing.
- Hands-on experience with Endevor and File Manager.
- Knowledge of UI design and development.
- Understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
- Experience with UX and UI design principles.

They are looking for a Senior Mainframe and UI Tester who is detailed oriented, analyzes requirements, understands SDLC process, conceives solutions, develops software, creates, and executes test scripts to meet the operational needs of the company. This will be a 100% remote, 6 month Contract - to - Hire role.
The most successful candidates will execute activities applying understanding of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS Web Services (CWS), ColdFusion, Java, and JavaScript.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience Mainframe Testing
- Solid knowledge and hands on experience of Development Life Cycle and System Testing
- Hands on experience of Endevor and File Manager
- Experience developing timely and accurate status reports, including time reporting and adherence to level of effort (LOE)
- Solid understanding and experience with the following are required:
