Mainframe System Programmer

Summary: The Mainframe System Programmer role involves the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of z/OS and related IBM/BMC products. Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of SMPE, RACF, and security products, along with experience in system initialization and tuning. Proficiency in SYSPLEX, JES, and disaster recovery exercises is also essential, along with programming knowledge in various languages for z/OS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, upgrade and maintenance of z/OS and related IBM/BMC products
• Sound knowledge in SMPE
• Experience in RACF and security related products
• Good knowledge of system initialization and tuning
• Good Knowledge & Experience in SYSPLEX
• Good Knowledge & Experience in JES, PARMLIB, USS, Coupling Facility
• Knowledge in HCD and working with IODF's
• Good Knowledge in Disaster Recovery exercises
• Sound Knowledge in storage concepts (DFSMS is expected)
• As part of Language support -knowledge in PL1 compiler, COBOL, Assembler, Rexx Java for z/OS, node.js, Python for z/OS recommended.
