Summary: The Mainframe Network Engineer role is a long-term remote position focused on the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of mainframe networking systems, particularly GDPS and REXX. The candidate will be responsible for managing network protocols, security administration, and automation jobs while demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in various mainframe tools and a self-starter attitude are essential for success in this role. Experience in GDPS setup and REXX scripting is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced professional for a remote Mainframe Network role with strong expertise in GDPS and REXX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of VTAM, TCP/IP, OSA, and related products. A solid understanding of SMPE and experience with software maintenance, backup and recovery, and automation jobs is essential.

The role requires strong networking knowledge, including printer configuration, FTP, SMTP, and SNMP. The candidate should be proficient in resource definition, security administration, and have hands-on experience with tools such as Connect:Direct, TPX, Teleview, CL/Supersession, NETVIEW, Netmaster/TCPIP, and VPS.

You must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and balancing support and project work.
