Summary: The Mainframe IMS Database Administrator role at the Railroad Commission of Texas involves managing and administering IMS databases on a z/OS systems platform. The position is remote and requires extensive experience with mainframe applications, utilities, and programming. The contract is set to last until August 31, 2025, with a possibility of extension. Candidates must possess a strong background in IMS database administration and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer IMS databases on z/OS systems platform.
- Perform forward recoveries and manage DBRC.
- Utilize basic z/OS utilities such as TSO, SYSVIEW, and others.
- Develop and troubleshoot complex JCL.
- Maintain mainframe printer assignments and related setups.
- Write, analyze, and debug REXX programs in a z/OS environment.
- Work with IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog.
- Provide support for batch SFTP and FTPS processing.
- Utilize Informatica Power Exchange software for data capture.
Key Skills:
- 7 years of experience with z/OS Systems platform.
- 5 years of experience with IMS database administration.
- 5 years of experience with DBRC and forward recoveries.
- 7 years of experience with basic z/OS utilities (TSO, SYSVIEW, etc.).
- 5 years of experience with Batch and CICS Cobol, IMS programming.
- 5 years of experience developing and troubleshooting complex JCL.
- 2 years of experience writing and debugging REXX programs.
- 2 years of experience with IMS HAL databases and IMS Catalog.
- Preferred knowledge of Top Secret setup and administration.
- Preferred experience with ISPF panels and skeletons.
