Mainframe IDMS DBA

Requirements

• 15 or more years of experience in IDMS deployment and operations within a z/OS IBM mainframe environment.
• Proficiency in IDMS SQL option configurations and relational database implementations.
• Experience with deploying IDMS security, including ADS/O application structures, IDD, and relational database objects.
• Experience in database application programming using COBOL and ADS/O languages.
• Experience with IBM High Level Assembler on the z/OS operating system.
• Experience in IDMS Perfmon online monitoring, report generation, and database tuning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on database administration and operational support for application and infrastructure databases.
• Enable and tune database features to optimize query and storage performance in a mainframe environment.
• Generate and analyze system performance metrics using online monitoring and reporting utilities.
• Partner with application development and platform systems teams to align database configurations.
• Design and implement operations procedures for enterprise test, staging, and production databases.
• Advise engineering and product teams on data model modifications and legacy integration patterns.
• Coordinate technical tasks, estimate resource efforts, and resolve issues within a rotating call schedule.
