Summary: The Mainframe Developer role involves extensive experience in design, development, and support of applications on an IBM Mainframe platform. The position requires proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP, along with familiarity in Agile methodologies. Candidates must meet specific residency requirements in the US. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide production support for applications on an IBM Mainframe platform using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow).
  • Strong background in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Planning, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, Deployment, and Maintenance.
  • Refresh the Mainframe SIT and CAT application environments with Production data when requested.
  • Execute the Mainframe SIT and CAT batch processing cycles when requested.
  • Resolve any Mainframe SIT and CAT batch processing errors that occur.
  • Apply business requested requirements to the Mainframe application COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP objects when requested.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in IBM Mainframe development.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS, and FTP.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools.
  • Experience with IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow).
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Degree from an accredited College/University in a relevant field is preferred.

Note: candidates meet the residency requirements (Last 5 years in the US with no more than 6 months out of the country).

List of tasks to be performed:
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in design, development, maintenance, production support, coding, testing, documenation, qualtiy assurance and implementation on an IBM Mainframe platform using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, CICS and FTP.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow).
Strong SDLC Software Development Life Cycle background (Planning, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implemenyation, Deployment and Maintenacne)
