Summary: This role is for a Locum Litigation Lawyer to work with a Local Authority in Wales on a remote basis for an initial term of 3 months, with the possibility of extension. The candidate must have recent Local Government experience in various areas of law, including civil and criminal litigation. The position requires effective management of a complex caseload and drafting legal documents. The role offers an hourly rate of £55 to £60, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively managing a caseload comprising a range of complex litigation matters across various areas of law, including civil and criminal litigation, judicial and statutory review, and proceedings in tribunals and inquiries.
  • Drafting relevant documents for civil, regulatory, and criminal legal proceedings.
  • Advising on requests for information.
  • Drafting summons, indictments, case summaries, and disclosure requests.

Key Skills:

  • Experienced Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
  • Recent Local Government experience in relevant areas of law.
  • Strong drafting and advisory skills.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters.

Locum Litigation Lawyer – Wales - 3 Months + – Remote Working – £55-£60 Umbrella

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Locum Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in Wales on a locum basis. This position is offered for an initial term of 3 months, subject to potential extension thereafter. This is a full time position, to start as soon as possible. The position can be worked remotely.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with recent Local Government experience (essential) in any of the below areas of law, ideally gained in Wales:

  • Civil litigation
  • Criminal litigation
  • Judicial and statutory review
  • Licensing & regulatory law
  • Employment law
  • Housing law
  • Environmental law
  • Planning enforcement

Duties may include:

  • Effectively managing a caseload comprising a range of complex litigation matters across a variety of areas of law, including civil and criminal litigation, judicial and statutory review and proceedings in tribunals and inquiries
  • Drafting relevant documents both in civil, regulatory and criminal legal proceedings
  • Advising on requests for information
  • Drafting summons, indictments, case summaries and disclosure requests

An hourly rate of up to £60 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependent on experience.
