I am currently working with a well established Local Authority seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their legal team on a short-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an interim lawyer looking for an assignment within local government on a fast short-term basis. You'll join a supportive legal team, advising on a varied employment law caseload and working closely with HR and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a full employment law caseload from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Focused advice on the full spectrum of employment law issues to the Council and external clients such as schools.
  • Advising on TUPE, redundancy, restructuring and organisational change.
  • Delivering pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to internal clients.
  • Participate in projects relating to corporate, interdivisional or interdepartmental work as may be required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Demonstrable employment law experience.
  • Previous experience in Local Authority or the wider public sector is desirable.
  • Available to start at short notice is highly advantageous.
