The Role:
Working Arrangement: Full Time or Part-time applicants considered
Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £65 per hour – potential to be Outside IR35
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality legal advice to the Council on a range of construction and commercial agreements
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements including JCT, NEC and other standard-form contracts
- Draft bespoke agreements, framework agreements, professional appointments, and other related agreements
- Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other Council officers to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice
- Support on wider commercial matters on behalf of the Council when required
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in Commercial Law
- Experience of construction contracts is essential
- Knowledge of local government law is desirable
