Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer

The Role:: You will be responsible for:

• Providing commercial and procurement legal advice to the Local Authority, Officers, Departments and members as required
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework and partnership agreements alongside service contracts
• Advise on and draft grant funding agreements, ensuring appropriate conditions, monitoring agreements, clawback provisions and governance requirements
• Advise on the procurement of goods, works and services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Support the Council departments with commercial legal advice when required

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
• Demonstrable experience in commercial contracts and procurement law, ideally gained within a Local Authority or wider Public Sector environment
• Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and commercial contracting

• Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
• Location: Remote working
• Contract: Initial 3+ months with the likelihood of extension
• Start: ASAP
