The Role:: You will be responsible for:
- Providing commercial and procurement legal advice to the Local Authority, Officers, Departments and members as required
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework and partnership agreements alongside service contracts
- Advise on and draft grant funding agreements, ensuring appropriate conditions, monitoring agreements, clawback provisions and governance requirements
- Advise on the procurement of goods, works and services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Support the Council departments with commercial legal advice when required
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
- Demonstrable experience in commercial contracts and procurement law, ideally gained within a Local Authority or wider Public Sector environment
- Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and commercial contracting
- Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
- Location: Remote working
- Contract: Initial 3+ months with the likelihood of extension
- Start: ASAP
- ASAP start with long-term assignment potential
