The Role:
Position: Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time, Remote working
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Duration: Initial 3+ months with the possibility for extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of commercial contracts and procurement matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including social care and service contracts
- Advise on JCT contracts and support on NEC matters
- Prepare and negotiate funding agreements and grant funding documentation
- Provide clear and pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders, officers, and internal teams
- Support Procurement exercises and ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislation and local authority governance
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
- Demonstrable experience in commercial contracts and procurement law within a Local Authority setting
- Strong knowledge of public procurement and commercial contracts
- Ability to provide practical, solution-focussed legal advice to a range of stakeholders
