Summary: The role of Locum Licensing Lawyer involves providing legal advice and representation primarily in licensing matters for a Local Authority in East Anglia. Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake all aspects of Licensing proceedings in Magistrates Court and associated appeals.
  • Provide Licensing advice to the Licensing Authority.
  • Act as Legal Adviser for Local Authority at Committee and Sub-Committee hearings, including handling taxi licenses/appeals.
  • Draft and issue relevant proceedings in the Magistrates and/or County Court.
  • Review and interpret new legislation and advise officers on the impact of changes on their departments.

Key Skills:

  • Prior experience working within a Local Authority.
  • Knowledge of Licensing matters.
  • Ability to provide legal advice and representation.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and proceedings.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and its implications.
