Summary: The role of a Senior Linux Architect involves leading the engineering and architecture of enterprise RDT&E solutions, focusing on Red Hat Satellite and Ansible orchestration. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering and architecture of enterprise RDT&E solutions centered around Red Hat Satellite and Ansible orchestration.
- Design and implement Red Hat Satellite and Ansible solutions, developing Ansible playbooks for automation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and provide expert-level troubleshooting for the entire NSWCDD Command.
- Contribute to the organization's security posture and efficiency through well-architected and automated solutions.
Key Skills:
- 8+ years of Linux experience, particularly in a Red Hat environment.
- Strong proficiency in Ansible and knowledge of security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and relevant certifications like RHCE or RHCA preferred.
- Experience in system administration of Linux-based servers and workstations.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, security guidelines, and tools.
- Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce criteria or IAT Level II certification at time of hire.

Job Description
- NSWCDD is requesting a highly skilled and motivated Senior Linux Architect to lead the engineering and architecture of our enterprise RDT&E solutions centered around Red Hat Satellite and Ansible orchestration, critical to our Comply to Connect (C2C) initiative.
- This role demands deep expertise in Linux systems administration, automation, configuration management, and security best practices, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
- The architect will design and implement Red Hat Satellite and Ansible solutions, develop Ansible playbooks for automation, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and provide expert-level troubleshooting for the entire NSWCDD Command.
- NSWCDD is requesting qualifications that include 8+ years of Linux experience, strong Ansible proficiency, security knowledge, excellent communication skills, and preferably relevant certifications like RHCE or RHCA.
- The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our organization's security posture and efficiency through well-architected and automated solutions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum five to eight years' (5-8) experience in system administration of Linux-based servers and Linux-based workstations
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ideal Linux Admin will have trouble shooting skills in RHEL 7/8/9 OS and basic knowledge of Networking fundamentals, specifically TCP/IP protocol suite and IP configuration
- In addition, working knowledge of security guidelines and polices (DISA STIGs) and tools (Evaluate-STIG, STIG-Manager)
- Knowledge of / experience with Tenable suite of products (Security Center, Nessus Scanner, Nessus Agent) is a plus
- Seeking specific experience with the following operating systems and services is required: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8.x with RHEL 7.x and/or RHEL9.x a plus)
- Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+).
- Have knowledge of corporate services including: DNS, SMTP, Splunk, Centralized patching solutions such as Red Hat Satellite, Automation solutions such as Ansible Tower / AWX
- Knowledge of / experience with: Single Sign on solutions such as RHSSO; Virtualization platform management systems such as VMWare / VSphere / Vcenter is a plus
- Demonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities
- Experience with Service Now or similar Ticket Management system
- Linux+ or Red Hat Certification preferred
