Summary: The Linux Client Platform Engineer Contractor is responsible for leading the implementation of security controls for Linux endpoints to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires collaboration with various internal and external teams to assess and implement necessary security measures. The position also involves providing technical guidance and maintaining documentation for audit purposes. The contractor will focus on achieving full compliance by Q3 2025 while minimizing disruption to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of security controls for Linux endpoints to achieve full compliance by Q3 2025.
- Collaborate with CIT, Infra, DART, infra security, identity, and CorpOps teams to ensure alignment and progress.
- Assess and implement Mobile Device Management (MDM) options and other control solutions.
- Apply CIS hardening benchmarks to all approved operating systems.
- Manage and enforce device certificate management and disk encryption solutions.
- Develop and execute a phased rollout plan for security controls, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure all blocking actions log events for DART to use.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for audit and compliance purposes.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in Linux system administration and security.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Experience with MDM solutions and endpoint security tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune, FleetDM).
- Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and hardening practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a similar role within a large enterprise environment (preferred).
- Experience with Zscaler and Crowdstrike solutions (preferred).
