We're seeking a culturally immersed and academically grounded expert to help shape the next generation of AI systems. As an In-Country Cultural & Linguistic Expert, you'll ensure our models reflect the richness, nuance, and sensitivity of your local culture. Your work will directly influence how AI understands and interacts with people across languages, regions, and social contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Set Creation Craft and curate authentic texts, dialogues, idioms, proverbs, and Q&A pairs that reflect real-life language use. Your contributions will go beyond textbooks to capture the soul of everyday communication.
- Evaluation Set Design Develop culturally challenging prompts that test AI's grasp of humor, taboos, and sensitive topics. Help distinguish between nuanced, respectful responses and those that may unintentionally offend.
- AI Response Benchmarking Act as a human evaluator to assess AI outputs for cultural appropriateness, factual accuracy, and tone. Spot subtle biases, stereotypes, and inaccuracies that only a cultural insider can detect.
- Framework & Guideline Development Collaborate on defining "cultural awareness" and contribute to intellectual frameworks that guide data generation and evaluation across teams.
- Data Vetting & Enrichment Review and enrich datasets to ensure comprehensive coverage of cultural phenomena. Provide contextual depth by linking examples to broader cultural theories (e.g., collectivism vs. individualism, high-context vs. low-context communication).
- Structural Bias Analysis Apply academic expertise to identify and categorize sources of cultural bias. Help mitigate historical, social, and linguistic imbalances embedded in AI systems.
