Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform linguistic analyses on large multilingual datasets.
  • Conduct linguistic error analysis of AI model outputs and identify frequent and severe error categories.
  • Write, review, and revise annotation and translation guidelines for human labeling projects.
  • Conduct sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis research across multiple languages.
  • Analyze Responsible AI concerns including toxic language, hate speech, gender bias, and cultural bias in multilingual settings.
  • Conduct literature reviews on NLP-adjacent and linguistic research topics and summarize findings clearly.
  • Evaluate and compare linguistic deliverables from vendors, identify error patterns, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Provide expert guidance on linguistic domains including Language Typology, Morphology, Syntax, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Phonetics/Phonology, Corpus Linguistics, and Writing Systems.
  • Collaborate with native speakers across multiple languages and cultures.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to engineers, NLP researchers, and data scientists.
  • Support multilingual AI research initiatives and contribute to research papers where applicable.

Key Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming (mandatory).

The ideal candidate will possess strong academic training in Linguistics and hands-on interest in multilingual language analysis, Responsible AI, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

This role involves performing linguistic analyses on large multilingual datasets, evaluating AI model outputs, conducting linguistic research, and collaborating closely with engineers, data scientists, and research teams to improve language technologies and AI systems.

Candidates must demonstrate near-native proficiency in at least one language other than English, preferably Vietnamese, Dutch, Portuguese, or Thai.
