Summary: The Learning Pathways and Competency Frameworks Consultant will design and implement learning pathways and competency models for critical roles within a leading public healthcare system. This role aims to enhance employee engagement and professional development while aligning competencies with organizational goals. The consultant will collaborate with various departments to ensure effective development and communication of these frameworks. The position is remote with less than 25% travel to Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to identify and prioritize roles that would benefit most from career and learning path development.
  • Review and analyze existing training programs, job descriptions, and job architecture materials to determine their relevance and applicability to career and learning pathing initiatives.
  • Design and develop customized career pathways and progression routes for prioritized roles.
  • Identify associated learning opportunities and training requirements that support career progression.
  • Create and implement assessments to evaluate employee skills and readiness for career mobility.
  • Validate career and learning pathways with subject matter experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders.
  • Develop customized competency frameworks for designated organizational disciplines and clinical/professional areas.
  • Conduct SME interviews and review relevant materials to identify required skills, behaviors, expertise expectations, and development milestones.
  • Design self-assessment and peer assessment tools aligned with competency frameworks.
  • Validate competency frameworks through collaboration with SMEs and key stakeholders.
  • Support the design and development of micro-learning-style training modules related to competencies and skills, as needed.

The Learning Pathways and Competency Frameworks Consultant will design and implement comprehensive learning pathways for critical roles within the organization and support the design of competency models for two core disciplines. This initiative is intended to enhance employee engagement, foster professional development, and strengthen organizational resilience by identifying key competencies and progression opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
