Summary: The Lead Technical Test Engineer will oversee testing strategies and coordinate a team of Technical Test Engineers for a digital agency. This remote role is a 3-month contract with potential for extension and requires extensive experience in testing, particularly in microservices architecture and AWS. The position demands hands-on expertise in API testing and familiarity with test management tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both testing and test leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Test Manager with strategy and coordination of a team of Technical Test Engineers.
- Conduct testing for web-based solutions built in a microservices architecture.
- Utilize AWS to trigger services and events for test execution.
- Develop functional tests that exercise the UI, API, and database layers.
- Manage test and bug processes using tools like JIRA and Zephyr Enterprise.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in testing and test leadership.
- Hands-on experience with API testing.
- Experience with AWS and Docker.
- Familiarity with test and bug management tools, specifically JIRA and Zephyr Enterprise.
- Ability to develop functional tests for UI, API, and DB layers.

Lead Technical Test Engineer Remote 3 month contract - potential for extension Outside IR35 £450pd iO are working with an established and rapidly growing Digital agency in their search for an experienced Lead Technical Test Engineer They work with global technology leaders to provide digital transformation services to a number of customers in industries including not-for-profit, financial services and the pubic sector You will bring years of experience, understanding and practical application in all levels and types of testing and a good understanding and usage of AWS services to assist in the set-up and triggering of test conditions. As the Lead Test Engineer, you will support the Test Manager with the strategy and coordinating a small team of Technical Test Engineers Must have experience in testing one or more of the following: Minimum of 5 years' experience in BOTH testing and test leadership Experience of testing web-based solutions built in a microservices architecture where some of the testing is in the back end microservices, using AWS to trigger services and events to aid test execution, and set up of conditions and set up of data as well as testing at the UI layer Hands-on understanding and experience with API testing Experience in AWS and Docker Familiar with test and bug management tools and processes, specifically JIRA and Zephyr Enterprise Ability to develop functional tests, which exercise the UI, API and DB layers Interested in hearing more?
