Summary: This role is for a Lead Test Engineer responsible for quality assurance in complex virtualized environments and web applications. The position involves leading the design and execution of test strategies while collaborating with DevOps and Infrastructure teams. The engineer will validate application behavior across various database backends and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. This is a fully remote contract position with a competitive day rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of sophisticated test strategies for enterprise web applications and OpenShift Virtualization environments.
- Spearhead functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure high-performance application deployments across dev, staging, and production.
- Validate complex application behavior across diverse database backends and server configurations, including SQL and NoSQL environments.
- Partner closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to perform deep-dive root cause analysis and infrastructure-related troubleshooting.
- Integrate automated testing suites into modern CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery cycles and ensure environment stability.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in Lead Testing roles with a focus on both manual and high-level automation frameworks.
- Proven expertise with Virtualization technologies such as OpenShift Virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Strong technical proficiency in Linux/Windows server administration and core networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing).
- Hands-on experience with database testing (SQL/NoSQL) and validating deployments in containerized and cloud-native environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex, multi-tiered infrastructure stacks.
