Lead Test Engineer

Summary: The Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test cases for web applications in a remote contract position. This role involves performing various types of testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to test automation frameworks. The position requires strong analytical skills and experience in both manual and automated testing of web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for web applications.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects using standard tools.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
• Validate application deployments in various environments (development, staging, production).
• Test application behaviour with different database backends and server configurations.
• Verify application compatibility with virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Participate in infrastructure-related troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Skills:

• Experience in web application testing (manual and automated).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.).
• Understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and server administration (Linux/Windows).
• Knowledge of networking basics and cloud platforms is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
