Lead Software Developer – SC Cleared
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Lead Software Developer – SC Cleared.
This role will be Inside of IR35, so you will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company.
Must not have been outside of the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years.
Key Requirements
- Responsible for assessing, designing, and delivering the migration of existing services and applications onto the new Common Data Platform (CDP).
- The role will focus on ensuring services are migrated securely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess existing services, applications, and supporting infrastructure to determine migration requirements and dependencies.
- Design and implement migration approaches that minimise service disruption and technical risk.
- Develop, test, and deploy application changes required to enable compatibility with the new CDP platform.
- Refactor legacy components where required to improve maintainability, resilience, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with solution architects and platform engineers to align services with CDP standards and best practices.
- Support data migration activities, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, deployment patterns, migration plans, and operational procedures.
- Identify and resolve technical issues arising during migration and post-migration support activities.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to operational and support teams.
Key Experience
- Strong experience developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications and services.
- Understanding of application lifecycle management and modern engineering practices.
- Experience deploying and supporting services within cloud environments.
- Experience migrating legacy applications and services to modern cloud-based architectures.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes, Git and modern branching strategies.
- Knowledge of data migration, data validation, and reconciliation techniques.
- Awareness of government or enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and develop pragmatic solutions.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Resilient and adaptable when working in fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities.
- Customer and user-focused, ensuring technical decisions support operational and business outcomes.
