Summary: The Department for Transport is seeking a Lead Security Architect for a 6-month contract, primarily remote with occasional travel to the Nottingham office. On behalf of The Department for Transport, we are looking for a Lead Security Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract based Remotely with occasional travel to the Nottingham office.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Lead Security Architect, your main responsibilities will be:
. Lead and have responsibility for applying Security Standards, Security Policy Framework, and the Technology Code of Practice (TCOP). This includes "secure by design" & ensuring "privacy by design" appropriate to the data being processed.
. Be responsible and provide support for ensuring that designed solutions, are fit for purpose and meet security needs,
. Lead the security architecture representation in the Enterprise Architecture governance process
. Work across multiple projects as prioritised, and be expected to understand and influence security decisions, there dependencies, overlaps and future implications of any identified solutions to meet delivery targets.
. Drive the continuous improvement of the digital and application architecture's maturity, challenging existing ways of working and technology choices, incorporating knowledge and lessons learned from projects and initiatives, as well as security best practice.
. Design systems collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders to address business problems that address of risk, impact and business or technical complexity

Essential:
