Summary: The Lead Scrum Master role requires a certified professional with extensive experience in managing large-scale IT system development projects. The position involves facilitating scrum processes, managing product backlogs, and providing Agile coaching to teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies and experience leading distributed teams. This is a long-term remote position based in the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct use of the scrum process.
- Responsible for facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings.
- Conduct system configuration, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation verification according to Agile methodology.
- Manage product backlog and sprint cycles to resolve system defects and address product backlog items.
- Update all system documentation when system updates are deployed.
- Provide ongoing scrum team support for subsequent releases.
- Forecast deliverables possible in an iteration based on evidence.
- Conduct accurate estimation and planning.
- Assist with conflict resolution.
- Provide coaching in Agile practices.
- Help teams clarify goals and actions to achieve them.
- Track and remove impediments.
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Skills:
- A minimum of five (5) years experience as a scrum master in a large-scale IT system development project with a contract value over $5,000,000.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience as a scrum master in large-scale IT system integration projects with a contract value over $1,000,000.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in leading geographically distributed virtual teams with at least 10 team members.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working on an Agile or Hybrid Agile development project.
- A minimum of one industry project management certification, including: Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist certifications.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience as the Scrum Master implementing or maintaining a public sector system (desirable).

Update all system documentation, including requirements and business rules, when system updates are deployed to reflect the current production system.
Provide ongoing scrum team support for subsequent releases to incorporate mandatory optional requirements, resolve defects, and address backlog items.
Forecast the number of deliverables possible in an iteration which is based on evidence and reliable sources.
Conduct accurate estimation and planning.
Assist with conflict resolution.
Provide coaching in Agile practices.
Help a team or individual clarify goals and actions to achieve them.
