Role: Lead Python Developer

Process / Engagement Expectations
12-month staff augmentation engagement supporting the NextEra Energy Analytics team.
Contract-to-hire mindset. We are looking for candidates that we would be excited to have join our team long term.
Candidates should be comfortable working directly with business and technical stakeholders.
Customer prioritizes both technical capability and leadership/communication skills.
Candidates should expect a four-step evaluation process:
o Client technical panel interview
o Client VP interview
o Customer manager interview
o Customer technical lead interview (at customer discretion)
Advancement is based on both technical depth and the ability to demonstrate leadership, engineering judgment, communication skills, and customer-facing presence.
Technical Must-Haves
- lead software developer with substantial hands-on coding experience
- full-stack experience (backend-heavy is acceptable; does not need to be an equal split)
- lead developer experience with responsibility for technical direction and mentoring developers
- some application architect or solution architect experience
- must still be actively coding and delivering software (not a dedicated architect)
- strong hands-on Python development experience in enterprise applications
- Vue.js preferred; React or similar modern JavaScript framework acceptable
- AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform experience
- API and microservices experience
Technical Nice-to-Haves
- experience with both AWS and Google Cloud Platform
- Terraform / infrastructure as code
- Kubernetes / containerization
- CI/CD and DevOps experience
- application modernization experience
- AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
- agentic AI, MCP, Lang Graph, or RAG experience
Non-Technical Must-Haves
