Summary: Our client is seeking Lead Observability Engineers for a five-month initial contract, with potential extensions for a two-year project. The role is remote with occasional travel to London and is classified as inside IR35. Candidates will be responsible for establishing monitoring standards and assisting teams in utilizing observability tools effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the basic approach for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
- Help choose and set up the core monitoring and observability tools.
- Create simple templates so new services have monitoring from day one.
- Make sure alerts are useful and go to the right people, aligned with enterprise-wide setups.
- Keep data safe (making sure no sensitive info is in logs).
- Help colleagues use the tools and improve what they already have.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with modern monitoring and logging platforms.
- You can set practical standards and keep things simple.
- Comfortable working with engineers and operations teams.
