Key Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end fiber circuit audits across multiple DMARC locations during each shift.
- Clean, inspect, and scope fiber end-faces using industry-standard tools and best practices.
- Conduct optical power testing at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths.
- Identify and resolve fiber contamination issues while differentiating contamination from physical damage.
- Escalate unresolved issues according to established procedures.
- Record test results, audit findings, and corrective actions using customer-provided mobile and web-based applications.
- Scan and validate cable barcodes using Bluetooth scanners.
- Verify fiber polarity using IR cards when required.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation with first-pass quality.
- Follow all site safety, PPE, ESD, and operational procedures.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on fiber optic experience in data centers, network facilities, or similar environments.
- Experience with LC, MPO/MTP, and SC fiber connector types.
- Proven experience performing fiber audits, circuit validation, or fiber testing projects.
- Understanding of DMARC environments and fiber connectivity infrastructure.
- Ability to identify contamination versus physical fiber damage.
- Experience using one-click, cassette, and reel-style fiber cleaners.
- Knowledge of wet-clean and dry-clean methodologies.
- Understanding of proper cleaning procedures for single-fiber and MPO connectors.
- Familiarity with common contamination issues and remediation techniques.
- Experience using fiber inspection scopes and video probes.
- Ability to inspect MPO connectors and interpret inspection results.
