Lead Engineer (WebForms, Azure & AI-Assisted Delivery) - Contract

2 months initially | Flexible location | Remote Working - Cheshire based Client | £550pd-£600pd Inside IR35

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer to deliver at pace on a 26-year-old Legacy WebForms system.

Tech:
.NET WebForms (95%), .NET Core, JavaScript, Azure, business logic in stored procedures.

The reality:
~780 requirements, ~2,800 Jira tickets (many under-refined). Minimal onboarding, fast delivery expected.

What we need:

  • Experience extending or modernising Legacy WebForms/.NET
  • Comfortable working in messy backlogs and database-driven systems
  • Confident using AI coding tools (eg Claude Code or similar) to accelerate delivery
  • Able to review, refactor and validate AI-generated code
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and willing to challenge requirements
