Lead Azure Platform Engineer | £600 - £625 We're working with a leading enterprise technology consultancy on this exciting opportunity to spearhead a high-profile API transformation project. We are looking for a visionary Lead Engineer to take the reins of a mission-critical Azure and Apigee ecosystem, ensuring world-class scalability and architectural integrity. This is a high-impact contract role where you will bridge the gap between complex cloud architecture and hands-on API development. You'll be the technical authority ensuring that Azure Pipelines and Google Apigee are leveraged to their full potential to meet massive enterprise demand.
The Role
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of a robust API Platform using Azure and APIM/Apigee.
- Act as the technical gatekeeper by conducting deep-dive reviews of API designs to ensure strict alignment with governance and security standards.
- Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams, Delivery Leads, and Product Owners to translate business requirements into high-performance technical roadmaps.
- Set the gold standard for API development by establishing technical benchmarks and automation best practices across the platform.
- Ensure platform resilience and performance, optimizing Azure Pipelines for seamless CI/CD delivery.
What You'll Need
- Extensive experience in a Technology Lead role focusing on the design, implementation, and operation of Google Apigee.
- Deep technical expertise in Azure Cloud architecture, specifically focusing on advanced Azure Pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python or JavaScript for API development and custom policy creation.
- Proven track record of managing Enterprise-grade API Platforms and driving internal API governance and standards.
- Exceptional communication skills to lead technical refinement sessions and mentor engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
