Gold Standard seeks to engage a remote consultant with expertise in Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) practices. The consultant will support KYC/AML checks and contribute to related projects. Only candidate based and with the correct legal right to work documents in Germany or the UK will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities & Scope of work

  • Develop Best Practices: Contribute to the refinement of KYC/AML policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Gold Standard teams to create and update KYC/AML policies
  • Ensure policies are aligned with best practices and legal requirements
  • Training and Capacity Building: Provide training and resources for Gold Standard staff on KYC/AML compliance.
  • Develop training materials on KYC/AML practices as needed, based on policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance understanding and implementation of KYC/AML policies.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports on findings and recommendations from KYC/AML checks and assist in the documentation of compliance processes.
  • Prepare regular reports outlining compliance status, findings, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide insights and updates to management on KYC/AML issues
  • Conduct KYC/AML Checks: Perform thorough KYC and AML assessments for partners, clients, and stakeholders involved in Gold Standard projects.
  • Review and verify the identities of stakeholders and partners (i.e.: Project Developers, Experts, VVBs, Account Holders, and Vendors).
  • Assess the risk profiles of new and existing stakeholders based on regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor and document any changes in stakeholder status that may affect KYC compliance
  • Identify potential red flags and suspicious activities in transactions
  • Ensure compliance with local and international AML regulations
  • Assist in the development of an AML risk assessment framework
