The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced KPI Report Developer to join a high-profile programme, delivering impactful reporting and business intelligence solutions across a large and complex environment.

This role will focus on the design, development, testing and deployment of new and enhanced Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting solutions. Working with data sourced from enterprise data warehouses and Azure-based data platforms, you will play a key role in transforming complex datasets into meaningful management information that supports operational and strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, technical teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define reporting solutions and ensure that all deliverables provide measurable business value. You will also contribute to the ongoing standardisation and improvement of KPI reporting frameworks, helping to create consistent, scalable and high-quality reporting capabilities across the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrated Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting solutions.
• Deliver enhancements to existing reporting capabilities and create new dashboards where required.
• Work with stakeholders to capture, refine and document management information requirements.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain data models, measures and calculations using SQL and DAX.
• Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, actionable and aligned to business objectives.
• Produce technical specifications, design documentation and supporting artefacts.
• Collaborate with reporting and development teams to drive standards and best practices.
• Assist in the optimisation and standardisation of KPI reporting across the wider programme.
• Support testing, deployment and ongoing improvement activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing and deploying solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, with a particular focus on Power BI.
• Experience working with SSAS, SSIS and SSRS.
• Strong SQL development skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Advanced knowledge of DAX, data modelling and data relationships.
• Experience building enterprise-scale dashboards and management information solutions.
• Proven ability to gather requirements and work effectively with business stakeholders.
• Experience producing technical specifications and supporting documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience delivering reporting solutions within Central Government environments.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulated programmes.
• Knowledge of Azure-based data platforms and cloud reporting architectures.
• An active CTC clearance is highly desirable.

You will have a track record of delivering high-quality management information solutions within complex programme environments and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

You will be equally comfortable discussing business requirements with non-technical users as you are designing technical reporting solutions with delivery teams. A strong attention to detail, excellent analytical capability and a commitment to delivering tangible business value are essential for success in this role.
