Summary: The KDB Developer will be responsible for creating innovative analytics solutions and improving the design and development of high-quality software and products. The role requires managing large financial databases and collaborating closely with other developers and teams in a fast-paced environment. Key tasks include setting up a kdb tick database platform and optimizing performance while adhering to best coding practices. The candidate should possess strong communication skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Standing up a kdb tick database platform
- Building out a kdb ecosystem in a greenfield new build capacity
- Familiarity with setting up the full tickerplant to rdb to hdb pipeline
- Onboarding and prioritizing basic utility data to Tick Database
- Good understanding of AWS and related components
- Writing Q based queries
- Performance optimization and fine-tuning of KDB database
- Using Kx’s Insights product and willingness to learn
- Managing and manipulating large historical data sets
- Implementing reusable Gateway functionality
- Implementing functionality based on defined API
- Using and implementing library-grade software
- Automating quality checks across datasets
- Ensuring clean and efficient coding practices
- Collaborating with traders, quants, and other developers
- Writing documentation
Key Skills:
- Proven experience managing large financial databases
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with kdb and Q programming
- Familiarity with AWS
- Ability to optimize database performance
