Summary: The role of Workday Implementation Architect/Consultant involves leading the full lifecycle implementation of Workday for a key client, serving as the primary owner from discovery to deployment. The consultant will collaborate with client stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and guide the internal technical team while ensuring effective communication and project management. Strong HRIS knowledge and the ability to mentor others are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary owner of the Workday implementation from discovery to go-live, managing both client engagement and internal execution.
  • Lead all discovery workshops and stakeholder meetings to capture business requirements, pain points, and design expectations.
  • Translate business needs into a Workday solution architecture, including detailed module configurations, security, and business processes.
  • Guide and mentor our internal team throughout the project lifecycle including configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Lead the solution design, configuration, data mapping, integration planning, and testing strategy across HCM and applicable modules.
  • Design and own the data migration and reconciliation strategy from legacy HR systems to Workday.
  • Define the cutover plan, go-live checklist, and lead hypercare and post-deployment stabilization.
  • Coordinate security setup, role-based access control, and compliance requirements across entities.
  • Handle complex configurations (conditional logic, validations, approvals, workflows) across Talent, Recruiting, Absence, etc.
  • Build or oversee the building of custom reports, dashboards, and analytics for leadership use.
  • Oversee and coordinate all phases of testing, including UAT, regression, and post-go-live validation to ensure solution quality and business readiness.
  • Direct or collaborate with offshore engineers for integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio) if not hands-on.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks early, provide progress updates, and ensure on-time, quality delivery.
  • Lead internal team training, review their outputs, and document best practices and decision logs for future reference.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of Workday implementation experience with 3+ full lifecycle deployments in a lead or architect role.
  • Proven ability to own and drive Workday projects independently, especially in environments with non-experienced internal teams.
  • Strong background in HRIS processes, including Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Absence, and Org Management.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills capable of leading workshops, capturing requirements, and translating them to technical teams.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Workday Implementation Architect / Consultant to lead the full lifecycle implementation of Workday for one of our key clients. Consultant will serve as the primary owner of the implementation, from discovery through to deployment and hypercare.

You will work closely with client stakeholders, lead discovery workshops, define the implementation roadmap, and provide hands-on and strategic guidance to our internal technical team. We are seeking someone with strong HRIS knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while upskilling our team.
