Summary: We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to contribute to a significant public sector project that supports a critical UK government service. This remote role requires occasional travel to Telford and involves working on large-scale systems in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Spring Boot
- Support and enhance batch-based and scheduled processing systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues across application, database, and integration layers
- Collaborate within controlled release environments using Git
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong Java development experience, particularly with Spring Boot
- Solid SQL expertise, including PL/SQL or equivalent procedural database languages
- Experience working with batch processing and scheduling tools (eg CRON, TWS)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot across full technology stacks
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
- Familiarity with version control and structured release processes
