Summary: The role of Java Developer involves designing, developing, and maintaining secure applications for a government contract, specifically targeting UK-based contractors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications using Java/JEE, JSP, and associated web technologies
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and coding standards
  • Develop and maintain dynamic, interactive web interfaces using JSP and HTML
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution
  • Support production systems and deliver enhancements in an agile delivery environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, testers, and stakeholders

Key Skills:

  • Strong commercial experience with Java, JavaServer Pages (JSP), and Java EE
  • Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with servlet-based architectures and MVC frameworks
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Exposure to secure coding practices and working within public sector or government environments
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and documentation skills

Java & JSP Application Developer

Atrium EMEA is supporting a world leading IT services contractor in their search for an experience Java Developer for a government contract. This is a fully remote role for UK-based contractors and offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, large-scale public sector services.

Location: Fully remote (UK-based only)
Rate: £485/day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 6 months (extensions highly likely)
Start Date: ASAP
